Our Approach
When solving one company's problem becomes solving an industry's.
We didn't set out to build a platform. We set out to fix a broken process.
What we found was an industry spending millions on new technology and getting the same broken results. So we built something different.

From Uncertainty to Action
Where it all began
In 2021, our founding team was advising a power-line construction company on operational improvements. The assignment was straightforward: find inefficiencies and fix them with technology.
What we found was worse than inefficiency. Crews were returning to the same sites repeatedly because previous inspection data couldn't be found, organized, or trusted.
Work orders arrived as notes scribbled on PDFs with GPS coordinates that were wrong eight times out of ten.
The entire system ran on hope and manual labor.
We went looking for solutions.
None existed.
Our first instinct was to find existing technology that solved the problem. We tested drone companies. We evaluated platforms. Every vendor we met was either cutting corners, charging a fortune, or both.
"How long for analysis?" we'd ask. "About four months," they'd respond. Four months. For data that needed to drive decisions in days.
The platforms that claimed AI capabilities were mostly smoke. The drone operators delivered minimum viable work at maximum prices. Nobody was actually solving the data quality problem at the foundation of everything else.
So we built it ourselves
Three of us. Matt, a data professional who knew how to build businesses. Joe, a domain expert and drone operator who understood what utilities actually needed. Justin, a brilliant technologist who could make the vision real.
For three months, we lived in the field. ATVs. Drones. Laptops propped on truck tailgates. We built, tested, broke things, and rebuilt. The MVP was rough, but it worked.
Within three months of showing it to our first prospects, we had our first sale. Three months after that, we had our first at-scale customer.

The word spread because the results were undeniable: same-day turnaround instead of months-long waits.
Data you could actually trust. Defects caught before they became failures.
What we learned about the industry
Utilities aren't resistant to technology. They're exhausted by it. They've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on drone programs, AI platforms, and inspection services. The results? The same data quality problems they had before. The same turnaround times. The same crews returning to the same sites because nobody could find or trust the previous data.
The problem was never a lack of tools. The problem was that nobody had solved the data foundation. You can't build reliable AI on unreliable data. You can't deliver same-day results when your photo association is manual and your quality validation happens weeks after crews have left the field.
We built DetectOS to solve those foundational problems first. Photo association. Orientation tracking. Quality assurance. Only then does defect detection matter. Only then can you deliver the turnaround times and trusted results that utilities actually need.
What drives us
Our mission
See and stop failures before they happen. We use autonomous intelligence to protect communities and monitor the grid, ensuring critical infrastructure is stable, secure, and ready for tomorrow.
Our vision
A grid where no failure goes undetected, no community loses power to preventable problems, and every utility has the intelligence they need to move from reactive maintenance to predictive action.
What we believe
Data quality comes first
+
See and stop failures before they happen. We use autonomous intelligence to protect communities and monitor the grid, ensuring critical infrastructure is stable, secure, and ready for tomorrow.
Speed matters
+
A four-month turnaround is a failure. If crews have demobilized before you catch a quality issue, you've already lost. We deliver same-day analysis because the industry deserves better than waiting months for answers.
Expertise validates technology
+
Every finding our AI surfaces gets verified by subject matter experts. Technology accelerates the work. Humans ensure the accuracy.
Relationships outlast transactions
+
We grew through referrals, not cold outreach. Our clients trust us because we've earned that trust in the field, in the results, and in how we show up when things get hard.

Results when stakes are high
$1M+ outage prevented when DetectOS caught an under-torqued bolt on a brand-new HVDC transmission line that QA had missed.
Multi-million dollar warranty claims preserved through 9-day drone audit of 618 remote transmission structures that documented foundation issues before winter freeze-up.
10-year capital deferral ended in 10 minutes when the executive committee saw comprehensive visual evidence of structural decay across aging H-frame transmission lines.
